Well yesterday we had our first day of serious house shopping. We went to see quite a few homes and we narrowed it down quite a bit. Unfortunately, the ones we liked tended to be on the expensive side of things...
However, we did have an interesting experience in the morning. We left our little girl with my sister (thanks Tammy!) for the day to make things easier for us. That means we had our little boy. He was actually quite a trooper, getting into the car after each house and immediately saying, "I want to go see another house!"
Unfortunately, something just wasn't right in the morning. After the first house, he got back in the car, looked a little funny and turned his head and threw up all over himself and the realtor's nice Jeep. Luckily she didn't throw us out of the car right then and there and was very nice about it. He never threw up again and was fine the rest of the day, so he was probably just car sick, but it's not the best way to make a good impression on your realtor.
One other item of note for you. Google has automatically started storing pictures from blogger blogs in that person's picasa web albums account. So, if you want to see all of the pictures from our blog since December (and eventually all of the pictures we've posted), just click on our picasa web album.

Introducing...
...my new digi-blog! For those of you who are interested (and I know that not all of you are, which is why I created it in the first place so I didn't have to post everything here), I created a new blog for my digital scrapbooking. I will be posting my layouts, things I learn about digi-scrapping, places to find good information, etc. The blog is HERE
I've had a lot of people ask me questions about getting started with digi-scrapping, so be sure to check out the blog because I will post a lot of good information there. It's still definitely under construction though.

Our New Look 2
Well, I am almost done tweaking this baby to look like we want it to look. Isn't D great with the digital scrapbooking stuff? So far she has made two banners which I have set to randomly rotate each time you come to our blog. She is thinking of making 1-2 more in the future.
It should work in Firefox now and so far it sounds like it does. Hooray for that!
So, if you have any suggestions, let me know.
I also wanted to share with you a conversation that actually happened today.
Lawson was running around and fell down. He came over to me and I asked him if he wanted me to kiss it better. He of course thought that was a good idea, so I asked him where it hurt. He says, "On my owie." (Where else!?) So Alia came over and says in a very concerned voice, "I think I know where it hurts daddy. Right here on his frontal cortex. There's a red spot." And indeed there was a red spot on his forehead.

Our New Look!!
Well, as you can see, we decided to do a major overhaul on our blog. My friend, Kristy, inspired me to start learning how to do digital scrapbooking, and I've been wanting to creat a banner for our blog for ages, so I made that my first project. I can tell already that I am absolutely going to LOVE digital scrapbooking. Once I learn how to do everything I think it will be a much faster method of creating my albums than the paper version (and less messy, and cheaper, and will take up much less space!).
Unfortunately for Todd, this project also meant work for him to figure out how to change all kinds of things on our template to get it all put together. He still has some "tweaking" to do to get it all finalized the way we like it, but it's most of the way there. So...we hope you like it! Let us know what you think.

Keeping up with the Ebberts
All those techies out there can skip this post.
I have had many comments from people lately that they have had to sit down and "catch up" with the blog, which may involve extended periods of reading. Now certainly I know these people are not complaining that we post too often, so there must be a flaw in the method of delivery of the blog.
With just our family and friend's blogs, we have somewhere around 20-30 blogs to check every day. That is a LOT of clicking!
So, I'm here to tell you there's an easier way to keep up with our blog and everyone elses at the same time. It's called RSS or Really Simple Syndication. It is a method whereby a blog or other website is published online so that it's easy to keep up with.
Most blogs have RSS feeds that update whenever the blog is updated. So, if you find yourself and RSS feed reader, you can check all of your favorite blogs at the exact same time with one easy program. That program then gathers all of the feeds and displays that latest posts for you. That way you spend less time checking blogs that are infrequently updated (you know who you are) and you never miss a post from a frequently updated blog because the reader shows you which posts are new since the last time you checked the blog.
Here are four RSS readers that I like:
Lektora
Omea Pro
Google Reader
BlogExpress
Lektora is probably the easiest to use and integrates right into your browser. Omea has the most features of the four but is still user friendly. Google reader has the advantage of using your already set up google account. In addition, it is online so you can check all of your blogs from any computer running the internet. BlogExpress is simple and easy to use.
To get started you just download and setup one of the programs and start adding feeds. Blogs will either have a link to their RSS feed on the webpage (often a little orange button that says RSS or XML on it) or you can type in "atom.xml" to the name of any blogger blog to get the feed. So, we have a button that is green on the right hand side or you can type http://theebblog.blogspot.com/atom.xml to get to the feed. That address will take you to a funny looking webpage. Some readers automatically recognize the feed and add it, others you have to copy the address into the "add feed" field.
It's easy to do and makes keeping up with all of your favorite blogs easy as pie!

Blogger Beta
I just wanted to let you know that Blogger has moved our blog over to the blogger beta format. The main change that means for all of you is that our posts now have Labels. A Label is simply any type of tag or label we apply to the post to categorize it in some way. You can then click on the labels to read all of the posts to which that label is applied. So, if you really like reading about Lawson, click on the label Lawson. I will eventually be adding a sidebar where you can click on links to all of the labels, but for now they will be listed at the end of each post. Obviously not all of our old posts have labels, but I will slowly be adding them in as I have time. Enjoy!
